Job description
The Director - Development for Jumeirah Group & Corporate is responsible for driving the regional expansion of Jumeirah’s luxury hospitality portfolio across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Based in Dubai, this role leads the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of new hotel and branded residence development opportunities that align with Jumeirah’s Mission 2030 goal to double its global footprint. The position oversees the full development lifecycle—from site identification and feasibility studies to contract negotiation, governance approvals, and handover to technical services. The Director ensures that each project advances with precision, financial discipline, and brand alignment, contributing to sustainable, scalable international growth. The role requires building and maintaining partnerships with owners, developers, investors, and family businesses while negotiating complex agreements such as Hotel Management Agreements (HMAs) and Branded Residences deals. A key aspect involves managing feasibility coordination, financial modelling, market research, and due diligence to identify opportunities that fit Jumeirah’s strategic growth priorities. The Director also represents the brand externally at industry events, providing leadership, direction, and insight to internal teams and senior stakeholders. This high-impact role demands extensive hospitality and real estate development experience, deep market knowledge across multiple regions, strong negotiation expertise, and a proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects within a global luxury brand environment.

Key responsibilities
- Lead regional growth across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia by securing high-value hotel and residence development opportunities
- Drive expansion to strengthen Jumeirah’s brand presence and achieve Mission 2030 goals to double the portfolio size
- Manage the full development lifecycle including sourcing, feasibility assessment, financial modelling, and due diligence
- Coordinate design workshops, contract negotiations, and internal governance approvals to ensure timely project advancement
- Evaluate potential development sites through detailed feasibility studies, market analysis, and investment appraisals
- Negotiate with owners, developers, and family businesses to secure new partnerships and projects
- Collaborate with legal, finance, brand, operations, and technical services teams to finalize sustainable agreements
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control across all phases of the development cycle
- Ensure all projects align with Jumeirah’s strategic, financial, and brand objectives
- Provide strategic insight and leadership to regional development teams to enhance execution efficiency
- Represent Jumeirah externally at industry events, conferences, and investor meetings to promote the brand and identify opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across markets to enable long-term business growth
- Monitor project performance, timelines, and budgets to ensure compliance with corporate standards and delivery excellence
- Communicate progress and risks to senior leadership, ensuring strategic transparency and governance compliance
- Lead and mentor regional development teams to maintain a culture of precision, speed, and quality in execution
Experience & skills
- Extensive experience in the hospitality industry with a strong track record in hotel development or real estate expansion across Europe, the Middle East, and/or Asia
- Proven ability to identify, evaluate, and execute high-value development opportunities aligned with strategic business goals
- Strong negotiation expertise with owners, developers, and investors, including experience in HMAs and Branded Residences agreements
- Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder development processes with discipline, speed, and precision
- Established industry network and relationships across regional markets
- Experience overseeing feasibility studies, financial modelling, and due diligence for major development projects
- Strategic mindset with understanding of hospitality market dynamics and growth drivers
- Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams and coordinating internal governance processes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to represent Jumeirah in high-level negotiations and public forums
- Experience with large-scale hospitality, real estate, or mixed-use projects, preferably within luxury brands
- Strong business acumen, analytical ability, and attention to financial detail
- Familiarity with international development frameworks and regional regulatory environments
