Job description
Design and build stages on this project need a consistent HSEQ culture running from inception through close-out, and that responsibility sits with this HSE Engineer role in Abu Dhabi. You will establish and develop HSEQ processes and procedures, building on them over time to keep improvement continuous rather than one-off. Development, implementation, and monitoring of HSEQ procedures and policies form the backbone of the work, backed by incident investigations coordinated and reported on as they arise. Coaching and mentoring programs get developed to keep staff updated on HSEQ initiatives, and a thorough audit program covering ongoing contract deliverables gets prepared and implemented. Non-conformances raised during external or internal audits need closing out fully, while HSE risk assessments and environmental aspect impact analysis run across construction sites and offices. Site visits and periodic audits confirm that Project Quality and HSE plans are being implemented effectively, and environmental control activities such as waste minimisation get monitored to support sustainability goals. Quality Control procedures get prepared and implemented alongside periodic audits of the Quality Control system, with records tracking systems maintained for inspections and non-compliant items across multiple contractors. Familiarity with OHSAS 45001, ISO 14000, ISO 9001, and Mott MacDonald's BMS Systems underpins the standards the role works to throughout.
