Job description
The AOG Desk Controller at Jazeera Airways is responsible for ensuring all material requests for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and critical defect requirements are promptly acted upon. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, airlines, MROs, and couriers to expedite delivery of parts while adhering to quality standards. The position requires tracking material movements, maintaining chronological records, attending fleet status meetings, and reporting monthly and annually to management. The controller monitors loaned, borrowed, and robbed parts, ensures return of unused materials, and coordinates shipments to outstations within the ERP system, thereby maintaining operational readiness and minimizing aircraft downtime.

Key responsibilities
- Acquire all material requirements for aircraft on ground and critical defect requirements and ensure delivery at required destinations per quality standards
- Coordinate the movement of materials and parts by liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders, airlines, MROs, and couriers
- Maintain and track progress updates and keep chronological records of AOG material requirements
- Attend Fleet Status meetings, update records, and ensure departmental procedures are followed
- Provide monthly and annual reports of AOG material requirements to Materials Manager, Reliability Engineer, and VP of Engineering
- Track loaned, borrowed, and robbed parts, ensuring return of units and delivery of core units to suppliers on time
- Monitor and ensure return of unused materials and equipment used for AOG at outstations
- Coordinate and monitor all materials shipped directly to outstations for AOG recovery in the ERP system
Experience & skills
- Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in an AOG Desk role in aviation materials and supply chain
- Knowledge of aircraft parts including rotable, consumable, and expendable items
- Proficiency in airline ERP systems and spreadsheet software
- Knowledge of AOG freight forwarding and customs clearance processes
- Ability to read and understand contracts and agreements
- Good communication skills
