The Senior Process & Innovation Engineer within Amazon Logistics AMET AMZL Engineering (Q-Express Documents Transport) plays a critical role in building, standardizing, automating, and innovating physical infrastructure, layout design, and material flow across Amazonās Last Mile delivery network. Amazon, founded in 1995, operates with a customer-centric mission to enable customers to find and discover anything they want online, and Amazon Logistics specifically focuses on delivering orders quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively while exceeding customer expectations. In this role, the engineer is responsible for developing and refining process standards based on best practices for physical infrastructure and designing logistics equipment deployed across emerging markets and global networks. The role ensures that all infrastructure solutions meet strict safety, customer experience, capacity, quality, and cost requirements. The engineer acts as a central technical and process point of contact within the Process Engineering team, collaborating closely with operational leaders in the field, functional support teams, and worldwide engineering counterparts. The scope includes ownership of process infrastructure across Delivery Stations and On-the-Road operations, ensuring optimized last-mile execution. The role also includes managing automation projects across the AMET region from ideation through execution, driving the expansion of low-cost automation solutions and leading equipment development initiatives. This position requires strong analytical capability, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to balance intuition with structured engineering methods. The engineer must coordinate with country-level and global stakeholders, ensuring alignment across complex logistics operations, while delivering scalable engineering solutions that improve efficiency, throughput, and operational performance in Amazonās last-mile delivery ecosystem.

Key responsibilities
- Develop, standardize, and refine process engineering standards for physical infrastructure, layout design, and material flow across Amazon Last Mile delivery operations
- Design and implement logistics infrastructure and equipment solutions that meet safety, customer experience, capacity, quality, and cost objectives
- Lead automation projects across the AMET region from ideation through execution, ensuring successful deployment of low-cost automation solutions
- Manage and support equipment development initiatives for Last Mile logistics operations across delivery stations and on-the-road networks
- Collaborate with field leaders, operational teams, and global engineering counterparts to align process engineering solutions across regions
- Analyze operational data and apply process engineering methodologies to improve efficiency, throughput, and cost performance
- Coordinate with cross-functional business and technical stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and operational integration
- Provide technical leadership and project management oversight for multiple large-scale engineering and automation initiatives
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in engineering or related technical field with 5+ years of experience managing multiple large-scale engineering or operational projects
- Proven experience in process engineering, automation systems, or industrial engineering within logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain environments
- Strong technical background in automated and non-automated material handling equipment and systems
- Experience working with packaging technologies and high-speed manufacturing or logistics systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for reporting, analysis, and documentation
- Hands-on experience with Lean Management, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex automation or infrastructure projects from concept to execution in large-scale operations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills with ability to operate in cross-functional and global teams
