Job description
The Interior Design Manager at IKEA Al-Homaizi Limited in Kuwait is responsible for leading and managing a team of Interior Design co-workers, inspiring creativity and ensuring alignment with the IKEA identity in range presentation, room settings, and home furnishing solutions. The role involves gathering and translating insights from home visits and market research into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic, and commercially viable solutions that exceed customer expectations. The manager ensures high-quality execution of interior design projects, efficient use of global tools and IKEA best practices, and a showroom matrix that reflects a wide variety of styles, living situations, and price levels. Responsibilities include supporting department action plans, developing creative initiatives, monitoring financial impact, recruiting and developing talent, and sharing national and global directions across the Interior Design Managers network. The role requires up-to-date knowledge of home furnishing, retailing trends, and IKEA mechanical sales systems, alongside adherence to supply chain, security, and emergency response policies.

- Lead and manage a team of Interior Design co-workers, inspiring and challenging them to strengthen the IKEA identity in range presentation and home furnishing solutions
- Gather and translate insights from home visits into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic, and commercially viable home furnishing solutions
- Create and maintain the store showroom matrix reflecting diverse styles, living situations, and price levels to generate strong visual impressions
- Ensure execution of interior design projects with high quality, simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency using global IKEA tools and best practices
- Support development of departmental action plans and interior design initiatives aimed at business growth and long-term profitability
- Recruit, develop, and plan succession for Interior Design co-workers, identifying potential candidates for leadership roles
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of home furnishing trends and retailing to facilitate workshops and inspire creative solutions
- Actively contribute to the national Interior Design Managers network, sharing directions, tools, and best practices with store teams
- Monitor security and emergency response compliance and report any breaches to the concerned authorities and managers
- Ensure team operations minimize disruption to visitors and communicate changes effectively while on the shop floor
Experience & skills
- Managerial experience in leading interior design teams in a retail environment
- Interior design-based education
- Deep understanding of IKEA home furnishing methods, living situations, style groups, and store communication principles
- Proficiency in range presentation techniques including layout as a commercial tool, store media, and display techniques
- Ability to understand local market life at home and analyze market research outcomes such as IKEA Customer Satisfaction Survey and Brand Capital
- Knowledge of interior design trends influencing home furnishing
- Familiarity with IKEA Concept, Brand objectives, and global tools and solutions
- Ability to lead creative processes and execute commercial plans effectively
- Understanding of IKEA mechanical sales systems and project execution methodologies
- Strong organizational, leadership, and team development skills with focus on creativity and operational efficiency
