Job description
The Team Leader - Procurement (Strategic Projects) at Julphar will manage procurement activities related to goods and services for capital expenditures (CAPEX), operational expenditures (OPEX), and services across the organization. This includes sourcing, negotiation, and contract management of indirect goods and services aligned with internal procurement policies and cGMP principles. The role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and supporting project requirements. The role also involves managing tender processes, purchase orders, inventory health, and budget tracking for large-scale procurement needs. Additionally, the position includes generating reports and analytics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support project timelines and procurement strategies. Experience with SAP, supplier management, and procurement for large-scale projects or construction is highly desirable.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for CAPEX, OPEX, and service contracts based on project requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors
- Manage the entire tender process including requirements collection, opening, awarding, and compliance with procurement policies
- Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of goods/services
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve disputes
- Manage purchase orders for indirect materials including equipment, tools, and consumables
- Collaborate with project teams to align procurement with project specifications and timelines
- Monitor inventory and maintain health and safety stock levels
- Ensure multiple sourcing options to avoid supplier monopoly
- Coordinate with internal teams on material availability and procurement updates
- Develop and manage procurement budgets for CAPEX, OPEX, and services
- Track expenditures and implement cost-reduction initiatives
- Provide reports and analytics on procurement status and vendor performance
- Use data and market trends to inform sourcing strategies
- Act as procurement contact for project-related inquiries and updates
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field
- Masterās degree or professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus
- Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect procurement focused on CAPEX, OPEX, and services
- Prior experience with large-scale projects or construction procurement is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of SAP and contract management tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of procurement regulations, market trends, and supplier evaluation
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration abilities
