The Vice President - Risk role at Aldar Corporate in Abu Dhabi is part of the Enterprise Risk and Business Excellence function and is responsible for leading and governing the enterprise-wide risk management framework across the organization in alignment with Aldarās strategic objectives. The role oversees the development, maintenance, and implementation of integrated Risk Management Frameworks, Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) frameworks, and Crisis Management frameworks across the enterprise. It also ensures the design, rollout, and testing of the Groupās Business Continuity Plans (BCP) to safeguard operational resilience and continuity across business units. The position requires the establishment of robust governance structures for risk identification, assessment, monitoring, mitigation, and reporting, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements including NCEMA regulations. The role involves embedding risk management and continuity policies into core business processes, ensuring that all departments and stakeholders understand and operationalize risk responsibilities within their functions. The Vice President is responsible for reviewing and reporting significant risks, consolidating strategic risk insights for quarterly executive reporting, and ensuring mitigation plans are actively monitored and executed. The role requires close collaboration with business units to identify emerging risks arising from internal transformation or external disruptions and to ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented. It includes oversight of annual reviews of risk policies, preparation for senior leadership sign-off, and communication of policy updates across the organization. The position also leads annual Business Continuity Plan testing exercises and ensures organizational readiness for crisis scenarios. As a senior risk leader, the role includes advising executive stakeholders, providing analytical insights on enterprise risks, and ensuring effective decision-making through structured risk reporting and governance frameworks. The role demands strong leadership in managing corporate risk functions, driving continuous improvement in risk maturity, and ensuring resilience across Aldarās real estate and construction-related operations.

Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide risk management frameworks, business continuity management systems (BCMS), and crisis management frameworks aligned with Aldarās strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the embedding of risk management and business continuity policies across all business units by collaborating with stakeholders to integrate risk governance into operational processes and individual roles.
- Conduct annual reviews of risk management policies, prepare updates for executive sign-off, and communicate changes effectively across departments to ensure compliance and alignment.
- Identify, assess, monitor, and report significant enterprise risks and issues, ensuring accurate escalation and structured reporting to senior leadership and executive committees.
- Develop and consolidate strategic risk reports on a quarterly basis, including tracking mitigation actions, evaluating effectiveness of controls, and presenting findings in executive risk reporting packs.
- Collaborate with departments to design and implement risk mitigation plans for identified risks arising from internal business changes or external environmental factors.
- Lead the planning, execution, and consolidation of annual Business Continuity Plan (BCP) testing across the organization to ensure operational resilience and readiness for disruptions.
- Support executive management in crisis response and risk decision-making by providing analytical insights, risk evaluations, and governance support while ensuring alignment with NCEMA and industry standards.
Experience & skills
- Possess a Bachelorās degree in Finance or Engineering, along with professional certification in Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Management Systems.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management functions within large organizations, preferably in real estate, construction, financial services, or consulting sectors.
- Have at least 2+ years of experience in a managerial role leading corporate risk functions and managing enterprise-level risk governance structures.
- Exhibit strong knowledge of industry best practices in risk management, business continuity frameworks, and regulatory requirements including NCEMA standards.
- Demonstrate proven experience in developing and implementing risk management policies, crisis management frameworks, and business continuity processes in complex organizations.
- Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to assess, interpret, and present risk data to senior and executive stakeholders in a clear and structured manner.
- Exhibit excellent communication, influencing, and relationship management skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrate ability to provide challenge and strategic input at executive level while ensuring effective risk governance, resilience planning, and organizational risk awareness.
