Job description
Leads the Payment Ecosystem and Enterprise Risk function for the CEMEA region, safeguarding the integrity and resilience of Visa's payment ecosystem spanning 86 countries, over 1,500 financial institutions, and 600+ billion in payment volume. Oversees execution of global risk programs across fraud, issuing, and acquiring domains, while partnering with banks, fintechs, and payment service providers to strengthen ecosystem resilience. Develops and implements risk frameworks that balance innovation with robust controls in a rapidly evolving digital payments landscape. Leads Product Risk Reviews, operational risk maturation, third-party risk management, and regulatory compliance programs. Embeds risk as a strategic enabler within business functions and fosters a culture of proactive risk awareness. Engages senior management and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment, effective reporting, and informed decision-making. Ensures regulatory excellence while enabling business growth through robust risk partnership, strategic oversight, and enterprise-wide risk integration.

Key responsibilities
- Drive operational excellence in the execution of global risk programs across fraud, issuing, and acquiring risk, ensuring consistent standards and controls
- Partner with banks, fintechs, and payment service providers to uplift risk management practices and enhance ecosystem resilience
- Develop and implement risk frameworks that balance innovation with robust control measures in digital payments
- Lead Payment Facilitator and licensing programs from a risk perspective, ensuring compliance while supporting business growth
- Oversee end-to-end execution of Product Risk Reviews (PRR), enabling stakeholders to submit quality, timely assessments and monitoring SLAs
- Lead operational risk management, develop frameworks, KRIs, and reporting mechanisms, and integrate risk assessment into business processes
- Partner with legal, compliance, country management, and supervisory authorities to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk governance
- Own third-party lifecycle management, implementing robust processes for risk review, approval, and ongoing monitoring of vendor relationships
- Embed risk management within business functions, transforming risk from gatekeeping to strategic enablement and building organization-wide risk awareness
- Continuously monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks to inform proactive strategy and enterprise decision-making
Experience & skills
- 15–18+ years of progressive risk management experience in established financial institutions
- Proven experience leading risk functions across lines of business and/or geographies
- Deep expertise in credit, enterprise, operational, fraud, reputational, regulatory, and data privacy risk
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and experience working with supervisory authorities
- Proven ability to set and implement a vision and strategy for large, complex organizations
- Exceptional leadership with experience managing geographically dispersed, culturally diverse teams
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset and ability to drive initiatives independently
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills, capable of engaging across all organizational levels
- Highly task- and outcome-oriented with proven ability to deliver results in complex, matrixed environments
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to work across regions and business contexts
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, balancing risk management with business enablement
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master's in Risk Management, or related field) preferred
