Job description
The Content Governance Manager at Emirates NBD is responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining written content standards across all customer communication channels. This role ensures that all messaging produced by the bank and its partners upholds Emirates NBDâs brand voice, verbal identity, and tone of voice guidelines. Operating within the Marketing, CX, and Communications division, the manager will collaborate with Group Marketing, internal teams, and external agencies to deliver consistent, high-quality, and brand-aligned content. Responsibilities include developing verbal guidelines, creating content frameworks, managing review processes, and establishing governance workflows that ensure accuracy, compliance, and brand coherence across digital and traditional platforms such as web, social media, outdoor, and customer communications. The position requires advanced language proficiency in English and Arabic, a deep understanding of content strategy, and experience implementing scalable editorial standards. The ideal candidate will combine linguistic precision with strategic insight, providing training and oversight to maintain consistency in customer communication journeys. Key responsibilities
- Develop, document, and maintain Emirates NBDâs verbal identity guidelines and tone of voice principles
- Review and edit written content to ensure accuracy, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and brand consistency
- Guide internal teams and external agencies in applying content standards across all communication channels
- Collaborate with Group Marketing to establish and maintain content review workflows and governance structures
- Ensure adherence to content guidelines across marketing, customer experience, and communication functions
- Work with agencies and creative teams to ensure content consistency across digital and offline assets
- Establish and maintain brand-aligned editorial frameworks for content creation and review
- Provide feedback and mentorship to writers, editors, and stakeholders on content quality and adherence to tone of voice
- Support content audits and compliance initiatives to improve communication quality across platforms
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless content delivery aligned with corporate objectives
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in copywriting, communications, journalism, or related fields
- Bachelorâs degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline
- Native-level proficiency in both English and Arabic, with exceptional command of grammar and structure
- Proven experience developing and managing content guidelines, editorial standards, and brand tone frameworks
- Experience managing content across multiple channels, including web, social media, and print
- Strong understanding of content strategy, governance processes, and customer communication journeys
- Experience working with workflow management systems and content review tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all communications
- Ability to manage diverse stakeholders and coordinate content approvals across internal and external partners
