Job description
The FinCrime Fraud & Risk Team Lead at Edenred UAE is responsible for leading and overseeing fraud, risk, and financial crime mitigation across payment and payroll services for 6,000+ business clients and 2 million employees. The role includes designing, implementing, and continuously improving fraud prevention and detection controls, monitoring and investigating transactions, leading Level 2 transaction monitoring, approving EDD assessments for high-risk onboarding cases, and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite. The position requires oversight of financial crime risk assessments, identification of vulnerabilities, governance and reporting, collaboration with Compliance/Second Line, mentoring analysts, promoting a culture of accountability, and providing guidance to internal stakeholders. The role also involves producing risk reports, supporting regulatory and internal audit reviews, and creating and revising policies. Edenred UAE operates a fast-growing payroll service with connections to multiple banks and financial institutions, focusing on financial inclusion and providing value-added services via mobile applications.

Key responsibilities
- Support the team in designing, implementing, and continuously improving fraud prevention and detection controls
- Oversee fraud alert monitoring and ensure timely escalation and resolution of confirmed or suspected cases
- Identify emerging fraud typologies and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks
- Coordinate fraud incident response and remediation activities
- Oversee Level 2 transaction monitoring, review and approve investigations, and escalate cases requiring regulatory reporting (e.g., STR/SAR)
- Identify patterns, typologies, and systemic issues from transaction monitoring data and recommend control enhancements
- Act as the escalation point for high-risk onboarding cases and review/approve EDD assessments in alignment with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite
- Lead financial crime risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend control enhancements
- Ensure first line controls are effective, tested, and aligned with regulatory expectations
- Partner with Compliance/Financial Crime to ensure policies and procedures are practical and embedded in business operations
- Maintain oversight of investigations, escalations, and outcomes with clear documentation and audit trails
- Produce risk reports for senior leadership highlighting trends, issues, and remediation actions
- Support regulatory and internal audit reviews with timely and accurate information
- Create, develop, and revise policies related to financial crime risk
- Provide guidance and mentoring to analysts and team members within fraud, EDD, and transaction monitoring functions
- Collaborate with onboarding, operations, and business units to identify and mitigate risks early
- Promote a culture of accountability and awareness around financial crime risks across the organization
Experience & skills
- Proven experience in fraud prevention, detection, and risk management in financial services
- Experience in transaction monitoring, Level 2 investigations, and EDD processes
- Knowledge of STR/SAR regulatory reporting and compliance
- Ability to lead financial crime risk assessments and implement control enhancements
- Experience mentoring and guiding analysts and team members
