Job description
The Senior/Mid Data Engineer at Huspy is responsible for designing, building, and scaling reliable data infrastructure that powers the company’s property technology platform across the UAE and Europe. The role focuses on developing robust batch and streaming pipelines, enabling real-time and analytics-driven decision-making through Snowflake and event-driven systems. The Data Engineer collaborates closely with product, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, high-performance data solutions. Leveraging AWS cloud services, Airflow orchestration, Kafka streaming, and Infrastructure as Code tools, the role ensures data quality, governance, and performance optimization while supporting Huspy’s rapid international growth and expansion strategy.

Key responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines integrating applications, events, and external data sources into Snowflake
- Build and manage real-time data processing systems using Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Develop and orchestrate workflows using Airflow to ensure reliable and automated data availability
- Implement monitoring, testing, and observability frameworks to maintain high data quality and reliability
- Leverage AWS services (S3, ECS, ECR, IAM) to build containerized and scalable data services
- Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Helmfile, or CloudFormation
- Optimize pipeline performance for throughput, latency, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Design and implement robust data models using methodologies such as Kimball or Data Vault
- Ensure governance standards around PII, compliance, and lifecycle management are enforced
- Collaborate with product, analytics, and operations teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes for production-grade data systems
Experience & skills
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering with strong infrastructure exposure
- Strong proficiency in Python for ETL development, orchestration, and automation
- Hands-on experience with Airflow or equivalent workflow orchestration tools
- Experience with streaming systems such as Kafka and Schema Registry
- Practical experience with AWS cloud services (S3, ECS, ECR, IAM)
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably Snowflake
- Strong understanding of data modeling techniques including Kimball and Data Vault methodologies
- Experience implementing data quality, monitoring, and observability frameworks
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
