Job description
The Expert Core Systems at Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait is responsible for managing and supporting core banking systems, ensuring alignment between IT solutions and business process needs. This includes maintaining the Finacle core banking system, analyzing workflows for improvements, and overseeing application implementation from requirement gathering through rollout. The role is critical for enabling business transformation through technology and maintaining governance and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities
- Define and manage requirements for core banking applications, ensuring alignment with business needs
- Maintain and configure parameters for the Finacle system across business areas
- Act as the primary contact for system queries, ensure version control, and collaborate with functional teams to resolve issues
- Identify or source cost-effective and compatible application solutions
- Conduct application testing in coordination with users and prepare rollout programs
- Oversee solution implementations including timelines, communication, and training
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure optimal delivery of solutions
- Engage with business units to understand needs and regularly communicate progress
- Ensure all activities align with ABKās compliance regulations and legal frameworks
- Contribute to policy development and risk mitigation efforts in collaboration with Risk Management
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 9 years of IT experience
- System operations and development experience in the banking sector
- Experience with Finacle core banking system
- Strong background in IT project management
- Knowledge of audit and risk management practices
- Familiarity with IT performance and quality management techniques
- Ability to manage vendor relationships
- Understanding of banking regulations and governance policies
