Job description
The Managing Director of Majis, an OQ subsidiary, will lead the development and execution of the company’s long-term strategy, growth, and profitability while managing day-to-day operations under the authority of the Board of Directors. The role carries full accountability for the company’s P&L, covering assets management, commercial optimization, project management, and corporate support functions. This includes oversight of seawater intake plants, RO plants, effluent treatment, utilities and pipelines, HSE, business development, client management, finance, legal, audit, investor relations, and sustainability. The MD will ensure alignment with Majis’ mission, Oman’s national objectives, and international best practices, while representing the company to stakeholders, regulators, and investors.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the formulation and execution of company vision, strategy, and business plans in alignment with the Board of Directors
- Monitor and manage corporate risks and ensure effective mitigation measures
- Maintain full accountability for company P&L including OPEX, CAPEX, cashflows, EBITDA, and net profits
- Oversee and monitor financial performance against approved budgets and ensure cost optimization
- Direct operations planning and JV O&M execution to achieve production and financial targets
- Set KPIs for assets and drive operational efficiency and business excellence
- Lead EPC project management and turnaround activities ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery
- Ensure full HSE compliance including risk assessments, inspections, and emergency response plans
- Drive new business opportunities in industrial water utility solutions sector in Oman and abroad
- Manage and strengthen relationships with long-term B2B clients under 15–20 year contracts
- Oversee finance, risk management, corporate strategy, and capital structure optimization
- Ensure compliance with laws, governance standards, and contractual obligations
- Oversee internal audit processes and implementation of recommendations
- Develop investor relations strategies and maintain transparent communication with stakeholders
- Oversee HR, IT, procurement, MARCOM, CSR and corporate support functions
- Champion Omanization and workforce national development initiatives
- Represent the company to external stakeholders including government, investors, and community
Experience & skills
- Omani National
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Management, Economics or relevant field
- MBA/EMBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred
- 15+ years professional experience with 5+ years in executive leadership role
- Extensive experience in utilities sector, especially water treatment operations
- Proven record in managing growing organizations and large-scale assets
- Strong financial acumen including P&L, OPEX, CAPEX, and ROI management
- Experience in EPC project management and technical operations
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics
- Fluency in English and Arabic (required)
- Experience in corporate governance, legal, compliance, and audit processes
- Knowledge of Oman’s utilities and energy sector dynamics
- Technical background in engineering preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office and IT/business infrastructure systems
- Experience working with multinational or blue-chip companies
