Job description
Micro SCADA, RTU560 series and REx670 IEDs are the core systems this Senior Project Engineer designs and delivers for Hitachi Energy's substation automation projects. Cyber security is built into every design, with Next-Generation Firewalls, IDS, HIDS, network segmentation and DMZs applied to regional standards. Each project runs from conceptual design through engineering, testing and final build status, often with several running in parallel. Factory acceptance testing with the customer proves system readiness, and site testing, QC, installation and commissioning all need technical support. Work plans, cost estimates, schedules and budgets are prepared and controlled here, and project managers rely on you for claims covering scope, cost, time and risk changes. Customers, officials and contractors deal with you as their focal point, and colleagues come to you for coaching and technical advice. Protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 101, IEC 104, DNP3.0 and Modbus are everyday tools. Candidates need a degree in electrical or communication engineering, 5 to 8 years in power grids with Micro SCADA, RTU and communication network experience, and fluent English, with Fortinet, Nozomi or IEC 62443 certification valued.
