Job description
The Senior Project Lead is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex transformation projects within Emirates Steel Industries. This includes managing cross-functional teams, coordinating stakeholders and vendors, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget, while meeting quality standards. The role also involves risk management, vendor negotiations, process optimization, and providing executive-level reporting on progress and outcomes.

Key responsibilities
- Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate managers and technical personnel during all project phases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to achieve project objectives on time, quality, and budget.
- Monitor project progress continuously and provide detailed reports on milestones and deliverables.
- Identify potential risks/issues and implement/propose mitigation strategies; review and update risk logs.
- Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Analyze project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and ROI standards.
- Review proposed modifications to project plans, approve and implement beneficial changes.
- Conduct project reviews and create detailed reports for executive staff.
- Update management team on overall project, risks, technology issues, and propose suitable alternatives.
- Manage project implementation teams to ensure full cooperation towards successful completion.
- Assist team in planning and preparing budget aligned with business plan and technology strategy.
- Provide oversight in planning, evaluation, implementation, and validation of new/emerging technologies.
- Optimize and improve processes and the overall approach where necessary.
- Present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Identify and select external vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and procurement terms.
- Manage vendor relationships, performance, and deliverables.
- Participate in business development activities such as project proposals and RFP responses.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 8 yearsâ experience in technology project management.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English.
- Ability to manage complex transformation and change projects.
- Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
- Experience in risk assessment, budget management, and quality assurance.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and process improvement methodologies.
