Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing audit documentation, ensuring completeness of audit checklists, documenting objectivity, independence, and continuance decisions, and referencing authoritative literature to support professional judgments. The role also involves contributing to project planning by leveraging prior year audit knowledge to identify priorities, developing contingency plans, and ensuring alignment with engagement timelines. The Senior ensures that audit working papers, evidence, and conclusions are properly documented and signed off, monitors team progress, and verifies that team members possess adequate technical and industry knowledge. Additionally, the role emphasizes local content experience, engagement management, and adherence to regulatory standards, while leveraging certifications such as CPA and SOCPA. Key responsibilities
- Understand key statistics and industry matters of the entity by reviewing prior year financial statements, enhanced audit reports, and audit documentation before engagement begins
- Coordinate with management, experts, and specialists to manage engagement deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities across audit projects
- Apply audit procedures using guidance materials, practice aids, and tools while maintaining professional skepticism in evaluating audit evidence and forming conclusions
- Prepare and review audit documentation including audit working papers, conclusions, and references to authoritative literature to support professional judgments
- Complete and review audit checklists, procedures, and sign-offs ensuring all audit requirements are fulfilled prior to engagement closure
- Track findings from audit work performed and follow up on outstanding tasks assigned to engagement team members
- Contribute to project planning by developing audit plans, identifying priorities using prior year knowledge, and establishing contingency plans for delays
- Document objectivity, independence, and continuance decisions ensuring all necessary inquiries and information are captured
- Ensure team members possess adequate technical and industry knowledge and provide briefings where required to support audit execution
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate 4+ years of experience in auditing within professional services firms or large multinational organizations
- Possess local content experience relevant to audit and assurance engagements
- Hold a degree in Accounting or a related field
- Exhibit a successful record of engagement management and audit project delivery
- Maintain fluency in English including reading, speaking, and writing with Arabic considered an advantage
- Hold or pursue professional certifications such as CPA, SOCPA, or equivalent credentials
