Job description
The Business Development Manager at IBM Consulting in Qatar is responsible for originating and progressing transformational value propositions with strategic clients. This role involves engaging in C-suite-level conversations, shaping tailored solutions leveraging IBM's consulting and technology capabilities, collaborating across IBM units and key alliance partners, and driving business impact. The position requires expertise in developing innovative solutions that align with client needs, managing strategic relationships, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and applying deep industry insights to identify growth opportunities. The manager will contribute to IBM Consultingâs mission to accelerate client business outcomes through collaborative, innovative, and high-value services.

Key responsibilities
- Drive transformational value propositions by identifying business challenges and opportunities, developing innovative consulting and technology solutions, and ensuring measurable business impact for clients across multiple industries
- Engage with senior executives and key decision-makers at client organizations to understand strategic priorities, uncover unmet needs, and provide tailored recommendations and actionable insights that create sustainable value
- Collaborate across IBM Consulting teams, other IBM business units, and alliance partners to design and deliver complex, multi-disciplinary solutions that integrate technology, strategy, operations, and business transformation capabilities
- Lead the end-to-end client engagement lifecycle from opportunity identification, solution design, proposal development, presentation to senior stakeholders, negotiation, and closure, ensuring alignment with client objectives and IBMâs standards
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with client executives, ensuring trust, credibility, and influence at the highest levels, while identifying opportunities for cross-selling and expanding IBMâs footprint within the client organization
- Shape and develop tailored solutions leveraging a full range of IBM capabilities including consulting, AI, cloud, and emerging technologies to meet unique client needs and address complex business problems
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to inform solution development, provide thought leadership, and maintain IBMâs positioning as a trusted advisor
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare business cases, ROI analysis, and strategic presentations that clearly articulate the value of proposed solutions to clients
- Drive continuous improvement in client delivery and business development processes by providing feedback, sharing best practices, and supporting knowledge transfer across IBM Consulting teams
- Participate in client workshops, steering committees, and advisory sessions to ensure ongoing alignment with client objectives, anticipate future needs, and identify additional opportunities for IBM solutions
- Act as a mentor and advisor to junior team members involved in client engagements, supporting skill development, knowledge sharing, and ensuring high-quality execution of consulting deliverables
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
- Proven ability to develop and progress transformational value propositions that drive business impact
- Established track record in C-Suite engagement and strategic relationship management
- Experience collaborating across consulting organisations and business units
- Deep understanding of solution design and development for strategic clients
- Experience with alliance partnerships and leveraging cross-capability solutions
- Knowledge of industry trends and market dynamics
- Experience driving digital transformation initiatives to deliver high-value solutions
