Job description
The RCM Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive reliability studies, equipment performance analyses, and trend assessments to enhance asset availability and operational efficiency in a large refinery or petrochemical environment. Key duties include identifying bad actors, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and recommending engineering solutions. The role requires developing reliability KPIs, dashboards, and monthly analysis reports, as well as analyzing process and machinery data to predict failures through pattern recognition. The specialist improves asset availability via performance monitoring, defect elimination, and reliability improvement plans. Collaboration with Operations & Maintenance is essential to reduce recurring failures. Additionally, the RCM Specialist provides reliability input for CAPEX/Project stages, including design reviews, Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), and Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) modelling. The role supports ROC & RSC action plans and contributes to Assessment Management and the Reliability Framework, encompassing Process Safety and AIMS. Competencies required include a solid understanding of reliability engineering concepts (Weibull analysis, reliability modelling), proficiency in RCA methodologies and data analysis tools, knowledge of rotating and static equipment principles, ability to interpret CBM and PdM technologies, and proficiency in reliability software such as Weibull++ and Meridium. Relevant certifications include CMRP, CRL, CRE (ASQ), and RCA training (TapRooT).
