Job description
The Financial Analyst role at TotalEnergies EP United Arab Emirates supports exploration and production assets by delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, robust financial analysis, and strategic decision support. The position contributes to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting while ensuring full compliance with IFRS, SOX, corporate policies, and local regulatory requirements. The role involves close collaboration with internal asset teams, regional headquarters, external partners, and auditors. Responsibilities span reporting and variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, audit coordination, tax and social declarations, process optimization, and advanced financial analysis for management decision-making. The Financial Analyst acts as a reference point for accounting standards, internal controls, and financial documentation best practices while supporting finance committees, partner meetings, and management reviews. The position is based on-site in Abu Dhabi and operates within the finance domain of upstream E&P activities.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for assets in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecast and present deviations and KPIs to management and asset teams.
- Develop ad-hoc financial reports and management presentations as required.
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts with internal stakeholders.
- Perform scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance of accounting processes and documentation with IFRS, SOX, and local regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the reference point for accounting standards, internal controls, and financial documentation best practices.
- Monitor the accuracy and reliability of consolidated financial statements.
- Coordinate all phases of internal and external audits and interface directly with auditors.
- Document and implement audit recommendations to strengthen financial controls and risk management.
- Collaborate with internal teams, regional headquarters, and external partners to optimize financial processes.
- Attend finance committees and prepare financial materials for partner and management meetings.
- Manage monthly tax payments and annual tax declarations in compliance with regulations.
- Oversee social declarations and related compliance activities.
- Identify and implement process optimization initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Produce detailed financial analyses, scenario models, and impact assessments for management decision-making.
Experience & skills
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in finance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Reporting, Accounting, or FP&A.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office with strong Excel expertise.
- Experience using Galaxy, Galyz Shuttle, and SmartView.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, SOX, Corporate Finance, and E&P accounting.
- Fluency in English.
- French language proficiency recommended.
