Job description
The Business Development Manager β Variable Sales is responsible for leading and managing a team of sales representatives focused on selling personal finance products and covered cards through phone-based sales and in-person meetings within the UAE. The role requires hands-on leadership in driving sales origination, managing assigned leads, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring adherence to banking compliance and ethical standards. The position involves setting and monitoring team sales targets, analyzing sales data to identify improvement opportunities, implementing sales strategies and campaigns, and developing structured training programs for both new and existing sales staff. The role also includes performance reporting, market and competitor analysis, conflict resolution with customers or team members, and continuous coaching to enhance productivity and sales effectiveness, with strong reliance on banking sales origination processes and lead management systems.

Key responsibilities
- Lead a team of sales representatives in selling personal finance products and covered cards via phone and in-person meetings
- Set, monitor, and track team-level sales goals and key performance metrics
- Ensure all assigned sales leads are attended to immediately by sales agents
- Analyze sales data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and sales campaigns
- Provide coaching, training, motivation, and performance feedback to sales representatives
- Develop and execute training programs for new and existing sales team members
- Prepare performance reports and sales planning aligned with team targets
- Ensure adherence to banking compliance requirements and ethical sales standards
- Handle challenging customer situations and resolve conflicts professionally
- Conduct market analysis and competitor insights to inform sales strategies
- Drive continuous learning and development within the sales team
Experience & skills
- Hold a bachelorβs degree in business or a related field
- Possess at least 5+ years of sales experience in the financial services industry in the UAE
- Demonstrate prior sales experience in banking with strong understanding of personal finance and card products
- Have proven experience in leadership and sales team management roles
- Show strong understanding of banking sales origination and lead management systems
- Demonstrate strong leadership, coaching, and team motivation capabilities
- Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrate solid business sales acumen with knowledge of compliance and ethical standards
- Show ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
