Job description
The role leads the Asset Management function for Qatar Foundation by developing leading-practice frameworks covering financial, operational, and maintenance needs for all assets across their life cycles. Responsibilities include contributing to asset management strategy, policies, procedures, systems, and review mechanisms while supporting major financial projects. The position leads the asset accounting function in strict compliance with International Accounting Standards, overseeing capitalization, valuation, classification, categorization, depreciation, adjustments, revaluations, disposals, and reconciliations. It ensures the integrity of asset data through appropriate systems to support cost-effective administration, develops reporting and decision support mechanisms for administrators and senior management, and establishes accountabilities for processes such as cyclical stock take and asset custodian responsibilities. The role collaborates across the Foundation to ensure efficient and cost-effective deployment and shared use of assets, identifies and reviews key business risks, implements strategies to minimize financial risks, and establishes effective internal controls to protect assets. Duties include mentoring stakeholders on best practices, monitoring the effectiveness of shared services, liaising with internal and external auditors for successful audit completion, addressing audit observations promptly, and supporting Financial Accounting teams. The role requires strong financial management expertise, understanding of IFRS and IAS, experience with computerized accounting systems including MS SharePoint, Oracle ERP, and Hyperion, and the ability to draft and edit clear written reports.

- Actively participate in the QF Finance management team and support functional objectives aligned with organizational strategies
- Lead the development of leading-practice frameworks for administering Asset Management functions
- Contribute to the development, enhancement, and monitoring of asset management strategies, policies, procedures, systems, and review mechanisms
- Support major financial projects endorsed for implementation
- Lead the asset accounting function in compliance with International Accounting Standards including capitalization, valuation, categorization, depreciation, adjustments, revaluations, disposals, and reconciliation
- Maintain asset data integrity through appropriate systems across all life cycle stages
- Develop and implement reporting and decision support mechanisms for administrators and senior management
- Establish key accountabilities and processes such as cyclical stock take and asset custodian frameworks
- Work across the Foundation to optimize deployment and shared use of assets
- Identify key business risks and develop strategies to minimize financial risks
- Establish and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard Foundation assets
- Mentor and train stakeholders on leading-practice asset management and administration
- Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of shared services provided to customers
- Liaise with external and internal auditors and address audit observations promptly
- Lead and support the work of Financial Accounting teams
- Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorās degree in Finance or Accounting with 8ā10 years of experience in financial accounting or management
- Possess professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CASA, or CIMA
- Demonstrate understanding of IFRS and International Accounting Standards
- Have experience or knowledge of non-profit accounting and asset management (preferred)
- Bring international experience preferably in the Middle East; knowledge of Qatar Foundation is an advantage
- Show excellent communication skills; Arabic proficiency is a plus
- Demonstrate strong team management skills
- Exhibit excellent writing skills for drafting and editing reports and communications
- Possess experience with computerized accounting systems and technologies including MS SharePoint, Oracle ERP, and Hyperion
