Job description
The Red Sea Utility Company is hiring a Senior Manager – Energy Modeling to lead the development and implementation of innovative energy modelling solutions for off-grid utilities. This role will serve as the center of expertise for technical services, providing strategic insights into renewable energy technologies, market trends, and policy frameworks. The position is responsible for building scalable energy models to evaluate the economics of complex electrical systems, supporting TRSUC’s sustainability goals, and offering consultancy services to government entities and organizations globally. The role emphasizes strategy, innovation, risk management, and relationship building to position TRSUC as a leader in renewable energy modeling.

Key responsibilities
- Develop functional strategies and roadmaps for tailored energy modelling solutions aligned with organizational strategic intent.
- Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and stay updated on renewable energy policy developments.
- Develop and manage energy models for off-grid power and water utility requirements.
- Conduct technical and commercial analysis of energy models to assess economic implications.
- Refine and enhance model assumptions, parameters, and operations in line with market dynamics.
- Employ innovative techniques to solve complex energy challenges.
- Research advancements in energy modelling techniques for potential adoption.
- Provide consultancy services to other organizations or ministries locally, regionally, or globally.
- Follow functional policies, processes, and SOPs to ensure controlled and consistent work practices.
- Maintain functional logs and documentation, providing MIS/statistical reports to senior management.
- Identify risks associated with energy modelling and develop mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with ERM policies and guidelines.
- Apply safety, quality, and environmental management procedures in all activities.
- Collaborate with government agencies, associations, research institutions, and stakeholders to drive initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems and processes using international best practices.
- Develop thought leadership content, whitepapers, and industry reports to establish TRSUC as a leader in energy modelling.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 8–12 years of experience in renewable energy consulting, energy modelling, or related utility services.
- Experience in off-grid sector preferred.
- Good understanding of renewable energy policies, regulations, and market dynamics at local, regional, and international levels.
- Proficiency in energy modeling software and tools.
