Job description
Onshore oil and gas capital projects in Iraq, both greenfield and brownfield, make up the portfolio this Engineering Manager oversees from Wood's office in Sharjah. Wood holds a general engineering contract with an international operator covering engineering, project management, EPC contract management, supply chain, construction and commissioning support, with low-carbon solutions built into many projects. Multi-discipline engineering is your responsibility, kept in line with client procedures, specifications and international standards. Reporting to the Project Manager or Project Director depending on project size, you plan and direct design and engineering work and personally help solve the hardest technical problems. Process safety stays in focus throughout, with technical incidents reduced through strong controls, incident reviews and lessons learned. Client discussions cover specifications, proposals and engineering findings, while cost, completion dates and resource allocation need close management. The role is full-time on site in Sharjah, with travel to Basra, Iraq required. Candidates need 15+ years in oil and gas process or piping engineering, including 5 as an Engineering Manager, proven onshore brownfield experience in the Middle East, Iraq project experience and professional accreditation such as CEng, PE or Eur Ing.
