Job description
As an Assistant General Counsel in the CIB Legal team at J.P. Morgan, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal support and advice across a range of complex financial, regulatory, and transactional matters related to the Saudi Arabia operations. You will collaborate with business leaders to support initiatives across finance, trade finance, M&A, payments, and securities services, ensuring robust legal compliance and contributing to the firmās strategic growth in the region.

Key responsibilities
- Provide legal support and advice on finance and trade finance documentation, including NDAs, conventional/Islamic syndicated and bilateral facilities, guarantees, and comfort letters.
- Assist with transactional matters related to mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, payments, and securities services.
- Support initiatives related to license applications and the launch of new banking and securities products.
- Offer regulatory advice and address legal queries related to payments, finance, trade finance, and operations.
- Collaborate with the Legal Department on litigation, product advice, and interpretation of applicable laws and regulations.
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 5 years of post-admission legal practicing experience in Saudi Arabia.
- Compliance with licensing requirements in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Expertise in complex financial products and services.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to provide strategic legal guidance and communicate with legal and non-legal audiences.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Experience with cross-border transactions and international legal practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with the regulatory environment in the Middle East.
