Job description
The Senior Project Lead at Emirates Steel Industries is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex transformation projects. The role requires managing cross-functional teams, collaborating with stakeholders and vendors, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, budget, and quality standards. The Senior Project Lead will drive efficiency improvements, evaluate new technologies, manage risks, and provide actionable insights into project performance, while also engaging in vendor management and business development activities.

Key responsibilities
- Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout execution to ensure adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop project plans merging customer requirements with company goals and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and teams to achieve project objectives within agreed parameters.
- Monitor project progress continuously and provide detailed reports on milestones and deliverables.
- Identify potential risks/issues and implement mitigation strategies while maintaining risk/issue logs.
- Communicate proactively with personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, and implement solutions.
- Analyze project plans and provide feedback on cost-benefit and ROI standards.
- Review and approve beneficial changes to project plans.
- Conduct project reviews and prepare detailed reports for executive staff.
- Update management team on project risks, issues, and technology alternatives.
- Oversee project implementation teams to ensure involvement and cooperation.
- Assist in planning and budgeting aligned with business strategy and latest technologies.
- Evaluate, implement, and validate emerging technologies.
- Optimize and improve processes and project approaches.
- Present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Identify, select, and negotiate with external vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Manage vendor relationships, performance, and deliverables.
- Participate in business development activities, including project proposals and RFP responses.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in technology project management.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Experience in risk and scope management.
- Knowledge of vendor management, contract negotiation, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in managing large-scale transformation projects.
- Ability to evaluate new technologies and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Strong analytical skills to assess cost-benefit and ROI.
- Experience preparing executive-level project reports and documentation.
