Job description
The Senior Project Engineer – Projects role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects from initial conception through scheduling to final completion within Lamprell’s project delivery environment. The role supports the Project Manager in the day-to-day execution of major projects and may independently lead minor projects. Responsibilities span engineering coordination, execution planning, cost and schedule control, technical issue resolution, and subcontractor and supplier integration. The role ensures all activities are executed safely and in compliance with the Lamprell Group Management System (LGMS), applicable quality systems, and industry standards. The position involves close coordination with clients, engineering, quality control, subcontractors, and suppliers across manufacturing, modification, and maintenance projects related to well control and hoisting equipment for land rigs and jack-up rigs.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Ensure all project activities are executed safely and in accordance with the Lamprell Group Management System
- Prepare and manage the document distribution matrix and ensure stakeholder acknowledgment and compliance
- Coordinate, prepare, implement, and manage engineering method statements and execution plans
- Prepare project material requisitions and monitor material usage to identify shortages
- Coordinate with Engineering and Quality Control to prepare lists of critical services
- Prepare, submit, monitor, and control additional work requests and change orders
- Prepare, submit, monitor, and manage project technical queries
- Coordinate engineering design technical issues between clients and project teams
- Identify cost and schedule improvement opportunities and report risks and rewards to the Project Manager
- Maintain awareness of the project risk register and ensure assigned risk actions are fulfilled
- Monitor work execution and provide inputs to project planning activities
- Track schedule activities and follow up with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
- Investigate labor and productivity variances and report findings
- Liaise with subcontract and procurement teams to meet budget and schedule targets
- Coordinate suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to integrate services with production activities
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Security, and information security requirements
- Act as Project Manager during periods of absence to ensure continuity of project execution
Experience & skills
- Hold a minimum of a Diploma or Engineering degree
- Demonstrate at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing, modification, and maintenance of well control and hoisting equipment for land rigs and jack-up rigs
- Exhibit strong knowledge of quality systems, cost control, production, and engineering processes
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Class regulations and industry standards including ISO 9001, API Q1, API 4F, and API 16C
- Exhibit strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with clients and cross-functional departments
