Job description
The Last Mile Assistant Manager at Panda Retail Company is responsible for supporting and optimizing last mile delivery operations for e-commerce and grocery orders. The role oversees daily delivery scheduling, assigns drivers/riders, manages delivery teams, monitors KPIs such as on-time delivery rate, cost per delivery, and order accuracy, and ensures orders are delivered on time and in excellent condition. The position leverages delivery management software for route optimization, coordinates closely with warehouse/dark store teams, enforces operational and safety standards, and resolves delivery issues including courier breakdowns, delays, and customer escalations. The role is critical to achieving high operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in fast-paced e-commerce delivery environments.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Run day-to-day last-mile delivery operations, including scheduling and assigning drivers/riders and ensuring timely order dispatch
- Manage, train, and coach a team of drivers and last mile leads, including tracking attendance, performance, and compliance
- Monitor and improve KPIs such as on-time delivery rate, cost per delivery, and order accuracy
- Utilize delivery management software to optimize routes for efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness
- Actively resolve issues including courier breakdowns, delivery delays, and customer escalations
- Coordinate with warehouse and dark store teams to ensure smooth handover of orders
- Enforce health, safety, and operational standards across the delivery fleet
Experience & skills
- 3–5+ years of experience in last-mile delivery operations, preferably in e-commerce, quick-commerce, or grocery
- Proficiency in delivery management software and tools
- Ability to optimize delivery routes and manage teams efficiently
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
