Job description
The Virtual Relationship Manager - Business Banking will act as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of SME and business clients, offering comprehensive day-to-day banking support, sales advisory, and service resolution. This client-facing role requires strong knowledge of business banking products, including trade finance, forex, and asset-based solutions. The VRM will proactively manage customer relationships, generate leads, provide personalized product recommendations, and ensure client retention through tailored support. A strong focus will be placed on adhering to regulatory frameworks, achieving financial targets, and maintaining operational excellence in a highly digital environment. This role is critical to delivering an integrated virtual banking experience aligned with Emirates NBDâs strategy of service excellence and digital leadership.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business clients to ensure long-term engagement and customer satisfaction
- Manage a portfolio of SME customers, providing daily banking support and tailored financial guidance
- Retain existing clients by consistently delivering a high standard of service and personalized attention
- Handle all service quality and operational issues related to the assigned customer portfolio, ensuring quick resolution and follow-up
- Identify client needs through effective customer profiling and recommend suitable banking solutions, including forex, trade finance, and asset-based products
- Sell and cross-sell a wide range of business banking products and services to meet revenue and profitability targets
- Source new-to-bank and new-to-product leads, converting them into active and profitable customer relationships
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as product specialists, credit teams, and compliance teams to structure and close deals efficiently
- Remain informed on current market trends, customer behavior shifts, competitor offerings, and regulatory updates to better position the bankâs services
- Ensure strict adherence to UAE Central Bank policies, internal compliance standards, and anti-money laundering guidelines
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in a banking environment, with a focus on SME or business client servicing
- Proven experience in business banking, relationship management, and financial product sales
- In-depth understanding of banking products such as trade finance, foreign exchange, and business lending
- Strong knowledge of UAE Central Bank regulations and anti-money laundering (AML) protocols
- Ability to analyze client needs and provide customized financial solutions
- Experience working with banking CRM systems and digital banking platforms
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales and relationship targets
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client relationships efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset
