Job description
The Affluent Acquisition Manager ā NRI Banking at Standard Chartered Bank in Abu Dhabi is responsible for sourcing and acquiring affluent New-To-Bank (NTB) Global Indian clients for both SCB India and UAE through various channels, including self-sourcing, referrals, and digital leads. The role involves engaging with high-net-worth NRI clients, understanding their financial needs, and providing tailored banking solutions. The manager will activate NTB clients, guide them on remote channel usage such as Online Banking and Mobile Banking, and ensure a seamless onboarding experience. The position requires strict adherence to AML/CDD guidelines, compliance procedures, and internal policies. The manager will collaborate with Relationship Managers in India to deepen client relationships and ensure client satisfaction and retention. The role also includes maintaining accurate records in CRM systems, coordinating client events, and contributing to the bank's revenue targets through effective sales strategies and cross-selling initiatives.

Key responsibilities
- Source affluent NTB Global Indian clients for SCB India and UAE through various sourcing channels including self-sourcing
- Engage with Global Indian Affluent Clients through referrals from existing clients to acquire for multi-jurisdiction
- Conduct tele-calling on the given client base to cross-sell Global Indian proposition
- Convert digital leads as and when assigned on a monthly basis
- Acquire and qualify NTB clients to bankās Affluent segment with defined thresholds for both SCB India and UAE
- Ensure bank charges and terms and conditions are clearly communicated to all NTB clients at the time of sourcing
- Activate NTB clients, set up and guide clients on remote channel usage such as Online Banking, Mobile Banking, and Debit Card Activation through Client Centre
- Engage with tagged Relationship Managers to deepen client relationships through effective client engagement
- Provide professional client service to achieve a high percentage of client satisfaction and retention
- Meet clients in person to understand their financial needs and provide appropriate banking solutions
- Acquire clients through anchor products such as Accounts and Deposits
- Generate new business to achieve defined targets in terms of number of clients, Funds Under Management (FUM), and revenue for the segment
- Follow Daily Sales Plan and Contact Ratios to acquire prospective clients through referrals
- Maintain complete and detailed knowledge of all the assigned products
- Coordinate client events for the unit along with the product team
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity records in daily sales log and update lead status on CRM systems
- Ensure strict adherence to all group standards of AML/CDD guidelines, compliance procedures, and processes
- Proactively identify risks and concerns including escalation to all relevant stakeholders
- Ensure completion of all mandatory risk and compliance training including e-learning within stated timeframes
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
- 3ā5 years of relevant experience in sales and relationship management
- Previous experience of Deposits/Liability in UAE and India markets
- Previous direct sales experience in UAE and India markets
- Demonstrated ability in sales planning
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes
- Networking ability to manage interdepartmental deliverables
- Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability, which encourages and promotes enthusiasm and team spirit
- Good understanding of the business environment in UAE, preferably with direct contacts with the local HNI community
- Computer literacy at the user level
- Ability to adapt to a multi-cultural environment
- In-depth knowledge of capital markets and financial planning
