Job description
SHE Specialist I role based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia within an energy technology organization operating in oil and gas and manufacturing environments. The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) systems aligned with corporate standards and local Saudi regulatory requirements. The role supports a safety-first culture based on Goal Zero principles, ensuring safe workplace practices, incident prevention, and continuous improvement in SHE performance. Responsibilities include compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, management of internal and external audits, and maintenance of SHEQ documentation and records. The specialist leads incident investigations, hazard identification, and corrective action processes, while also managing industrial hygiene programs and contractor safety systems. The role ensures timely regulatory reporting including incident, injury, and ERP submissions, and supports business continuity and crisis management planning. Additional responsibilities include delivering HSE training programs, conducting risk assessments, compiling SHE statistics, and producing monthly safety reports. The position also involves facility inspections to identify hazards, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring implementation of safety improvements. The SHE Specialist represents the organization in safety-related industry and community programs and ensures compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards.

Key responsibilities
- Implement and maintain SHEQ management systems in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001
- Promote and enforce Goal Zero safety culture across operations
- Report safety observations, incidents, and near misses
- Conduct internal and external SHE audits
- Ensure compliance with Saudi regulatory HSE requirements
- Manage HSE training plans and deliver training programs
- Conduct risk assessments and identify workplace hazards
- Lead incident investigations and determine root causes
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans
- Manage industrial hygiene programs
- Oversee contractor qualification, evaluation, and safety programs
- Conduct facility inspections to identify potential hazards
- Prepare and submit regulatory and corporate SHE reports including ERP and incident reports
- Support business continuity and crisis management planning
- Compile and analyze SHE statistics and prepare monthly reports
- Maintain SHEQ documentation and records in compliance with retention policies
- Ensure implementation of corrective actions and safety improvements
- Participate in industry and community safety programs
Experience & skills
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- Minimum 3 years of experience in oil & gas or manufacturing industry
- Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 auditing and compliance
- Knowledge of SHEQ management systems
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience in incident investigation and risk assessment
- Knowledge of HSE regulatory compliance in Saudi Arabia
- Ability to multitask and manage reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of safety management systems
