Job description
HSQE standards across the Middle East and Africa region fall under this Regional HSQE Manager role at DHL Industrial Projects, with both strategic direction and day to day operational oversight built into the job. You'll lead the implementation of global HSQE initiatives, adapting strategy to regional specifics while keeping alignment with Global HSQE's broader objectives. Compliance runs through everything, covering DHL IP policies and procedures alongside international, national and local HSQE legislation wherever the role operates. Incidents get reported and investigated properly, with root cause analysis supported alongside operational and leadership teams, and significant events sometimes requiring the role to lead the investigation team directly. Subcontractors, vendors and suppliers all fall within scope too, since their HSQE capabilities and activities need regular assessment and monitoring. Sales and bid teams get HSQE input on tenders and RFQs, while regional KPIs get developed alongside key leadership to measure and improve performance over time. Regular travel across the assigned region keeps standards visible on the ground, supporting project HSQE plans and sharing best practices across different sites. Engineering teams also work closely with this role, since engineering plans need HSQE considerations built in throughout a project's life cycle. Seven or more years of health and safety experience is required, including at least three years in a leadership role, alongside NEBOSH certification or an equivalent HSQE qualification and recognized auditor status in ISO 45001, 9001 or 14001.
