Job description
A global technology consultancy with offices across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the USA is seeking a Business Development Lead specializing in Commodity Trading Technology. This hybrid role can be based in London or Dubai and focuses on driving enterprise sales within commodity trading organizations. The company delivers technology-led innovation across capital markets, trading, and risk management, offering sustainable software development, cloud services, and operational excellence strategies. The Business Development Lead will be responsible for engaging global commodity trading firms, building senior-level relationships, and driving full enterprise sales cycles from prospecting to closing. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of front-office trading environments, CTRM ecosystems (including platforms such as Murex, OrbicTrade, Fusion, Aspect, Allegro, SAP), and the complexities of selling to Heads of Trading, COOs, and CIOs. This role requires ownership of revenue targets, structured pipeline development, multi-layered stakeholder engagement, and contribution to go-to-market strategy refinement. The position offers significant autonomy and growth potential as the firm continues to scale globally.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Identify, target, and engage commodity trading firms globally to generate new enterprise sales opportunities
- Develop and manage relationships with front-office trading teams, operations leaders, and technology stakeholders
- Drive the full end-to-end enterprise sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing
- Build and maintain a structured, data-driven sales pipeline aligned with commercial revenue targets
- Engage senior decision-makers including Heads of Trading, COOs, and CIOs to position solutions as strategic infrastructure
- Navigate complex, multi-layered enterprise approval and procurement processes within commodity trading organizations
- Provide structured market intelligence including buyer objections, competitive insights, and industry trends
- Collaborate with leadership to refine value propositions and contribute to go-to-market strategy development
- Own revenue targets and maintain accurate forecasting visibility for leadership reporting
- Drive pilot engagements, proof-of-concept initiatives, and enterprise expansions to accelerate deal progression
Experience & skills
- Proven experience in enterprise sales within commodity trading, capital markets, or trading technology environments
- Strong understanding of front-office trading environments and commodity trading operations
- Familiarity with CTRM ecosystems such as Murex, OrbicTrade, Fusion, Aspect, Allegro, SAP, or similar platforms
- Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles
- Experience selling to senior decision-makers including Heads of Trading, COOs, CIOs, or equivalent executives
- Strong consultative selling skills with ability to position technology as strategic business infrastructure
- Ability to build and manage a structured global pipeline aligned with revenue objectives
- Experience operating with autonomy in a strategic, growth-focused role
- Strong commercial acumen with forecasting, revenue ownership, and performance accountability
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across global markets
