Databricks sits at the center of this Senior Engineer role, tasked with driving next generation platform uplift and defining best practices across the Lakehouse environment. Delivery leadership runs through the position too, since modernization of the Databricks platform and adoption of advanced features both fall under this remit. You design and deliver Lakeflow jobs, pipelines, and scalable Lakehouse solutions, building the technical backbone the wider platform depends on. Unity Catalog, DQX, DB Genie, and AI/BI workloads all get implemented and optimized, keeping governance and performance aligned across the platform. Engineering best practices, governance, and automation frameworks get established from this seat, setting the standard the rest of the team works to. Individual contribution sits alongside mentoring, since the role also means guiding technical decision making across the organization. PySpark, Streaming, DBR, Lakeflow, UC, DQX, DB Genie, and Delta Lake all come up regularly in day to day work, alongside exposure to ADF, Synapse, and Azure DevOps. Large scale Databricks or Lakehouse transformation projects sit behind the kind of leadership experience this role expects.
