Key responsibilities

• Support patients and their families as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care
• Assist registered nurses with patient check-in, documentation, and education in lactation services
• Provide assistance with daily living activities for low acuity patients under RN/RM direction
• Support procedures such as Normal Baby Hearing Screening and CMV testing escalation
• Aid parents with baby care tasks including diaper changes, swaddling, feeding assistance, and skin-to-skin support
• Promote Baby Friendly Practices, assisting with breastfeeding positioning and mother’s comfort during feeding
• Assist with bottle preparation and feeding, cleaning and sterilizing feeding equipment
• Help with baby bathing and drying upon mother’s request
• Ensure compliance with DHA guidelines and clinical protocols
• Participate in audits, training, and continuous personal development activities
• Support stocktaking and restocking within Lactation Offices
• Maintain awareness of infection control, confidentiality, safeguarding, and health and safety protocols
