Job description
The Senior Credit Manager for Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) in the UAE is responsible for approving credit risk appetite within delegated authority for corporate clients in the Middle East. This role involves managing the corporate credit portfolio, monitoring risk exposure, and ensuring compliance with established limits and policies. The portfolio covers Middle Market, Large Local Corporates, MNCs, and GREs. The position requires collaboration with the first line of defence, including Relationship Managers and Credit Analysts, and coordination with stakeholders across Legal, Risk, Product, and Operations teams. The goal is to ensure high-quality credit analysis, early issue detection, and a cohesive risk management strategy.

Key responsibilities
- Approval of credit risk appetite for the bankās corporate clients within delegated credit approval authorities.
- Manage and mitigate risk of the corporate credit portfolio in the UAE/Middle East.
- Oversee credit portfolio to ensure risk diversification and compliance with established limits.
- Monitor key credit risk metrics and identify potential issues early.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers and Credit Analysts to ensure quality credit submissions.
- Perform portfolio reviews and stress testing.
- Collaborate across departments for cohesive risk management.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and regulators.
Experience & skills
- Experience in Corporate Banking credit risk management, credit analysis, credit approval, or portfolio management.
- Minimum bachelorās degree; CFA or FRM certification preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to manage portfolio independently.
- Sound credit and commercial judgement.
- Understanding of Transaction Banking, Trade Financing, Credit and Financial Markets, and Structured Lending products.
- Knowledge of legal documentation related to credit.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with multicultural awareness.
- Ability to engage stakeholders across various functions and seniority levels.
