Job description
The Assistant IT Manager – Fairmont The Red Sea supports the planning, operation, and continuous enhancement of information technology systems across a luxury hospitality environment within the Red Sea Project. The role works closely with the Director of IT and hotel leadership to ensure reliability, security, and optimal performance of IT infrastructure and systems, enabling seamless hotel operations and exceptional guest experiences aligned with Fairmont brand standards. Responsibilities include supporting day-to-day operation of hotel IT systems including PMS, POS, networks, servers, telephony, Wi-Fi, and end-user devices, maintaining system availability, performance, and security across departments, and providing technical troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues. The role supports system integrations between PMS, POS, Finance, Sales, F&B, and third-party applications, assists with IT security policies, access controls, backup and disaster recovery procedures, and monitors system performance to minimize downtime. The position includes supporting system implementations, upgrades, patches, testing activities, maintaining documentation, asset registers, licenses, and configuration records, coordinating vendors and service contracts, managing user access and onboarding/offboarding, supporting pre-opening operations and special events, ensuring compliance with Accor IT standards and cybersecurity requirements, participating in IT audits and risk assessments, delivering system training, and acting as deputy to the IT Manager when required within an ultra-luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations of hotel IT systems including PMS, POS, network infrastructure, servers, telephony systems, Wi-Fi solutions, and end-user devices across all departments
- Assist in maintaining system availability, performance, and security while providing troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Support system integrations between PMS, POS, Finance, Sales, F&B systems, and third-party applications ensuring seamless operational functionality
- Assist in implementing IT security policies including access controls, backup procedures, disaster recovery planning, and cybersecurity compliance
- Monitor system performance, proactively identify issues, and escalate risks to minimize downtime and operational disruption
- Support system implementations, upgrades, patches, and testing activities while maintaining documentation, asset registers, licenses, and configuration records
- Coordinate with vendors, manage service contracts and support agreements, and assist in user access management and onboarding/offboarding processes
- Support pre-opening activities, IT audits, risk assessments, compliance reporting, and act as deputy to IT Manager while ensuring adherence to Accor IT standards and data protection policies
Experience & skills
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel IT operations with supervisory or assistant-level responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of hotel systems including PMS (Opera preferred), POS systems, networking, and end-user support
- Experience managing network infrastructure, servers, Wi-Fi solutions, telephony systems, and cybersecurity fundamentals
- Familiarity with system integrations, cloud-based applications, and vendor management processes
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical problem-solving capabilities
- Experience supporting IT audits, compliance requirements, disaster recovery, and backup procedures
- Understanding of ultra-luxury guest expectations with regional hospitality experience and ability to support pre-opening hotel environments
