Job description
The Lead Application Architect is responsible for designing and maintaining integrated application architecture models to meet business objectives and technical standards. Based in Doha, Qatar, this role involves crafting scalable, secure, and performant application systems, aligning IT deliverables with organizational goals, and enforcing architectural frameworks. The architect will evaluate technologies, support emerging business models, and lead solution architecture development across enterprise systems including ERP, CRM, BPM, ECM, and Azure-based platforms. Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement are essential in this diverse, multinational environment.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain application architecture models, documentation, and guidelines
- Design comprehensive integrated systems that meet business requirements
- Create application architectures aligned with business objectives and best practices
- Ensure applications are scalable, secure, reliable, and performant
- Establish and enforce architectural guidelines, standards, and frameworks
- Evaluate and select suitable technologies, platforms, and tools
- Utilize business modeling methods to ensure results-oriented deliverables
- Analyze and assess new project ideas to support emerging business models
- Collaborate across business segments to identify and showcase innovation
- Develop solution architecture models illustrating product and system interactions
- Conduct analyses for process improvements, system enhancements, or software procurement
- Support evaluation of new technologies, vendors, and applications
- Identify and resolve complex problems within the application landscape
- Provide design input for ongoing application projects
- Maintain up-to-date application architecture diagrams
- Respond effectively to stakeholder concerns with cultural awareness
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 6–8 years of experience in an IT environment
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as BPM, ECM, ERP, CRM, Portal, and Web systems
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure
- Understanding of tools and challenges in managing mid-to-large IT teams
- Certifications or knowledge in SDLC, ITIL, TOGAF, and PMI frameworks
- Ability to analyze business problems and convert them into technical solutions
- Strong writing skills for drafting reports and communications
- Arabic language proficiency is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
