Job description
The Area Manager – Retail Operations is responsible for overseeing multiple stores within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with brand and company strategies while driving commercial performance and operational excellence. The role focuses on leading and developing Store Managers and their teams to achieve sales targets, maintain high retail standards, and deliver an outstanding customer experience. The Area Manager plays a critical role in shaping business growth through proactive commercial initiatives, performance monitoring, and cost control. By analyzing trade performance, managing inventory and cash flow, and maintaining compliance with company standards, the Area Manager ensures sustainable profitability and operational consistency across all stores in the area.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop Store Managers and store teams to align with brand strategy and company objectives, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure sales and operational goals are achieved through consistent KPI monitoring, performance analysis, and implementation of corrective action plans.
- Drive sales growth through proactive commercial planning and development of new business initiatives to improve overall performance.
- Oversee store standards to ensure locations are well-organized, fully merchandised, and consistently maintained to the highest retail presentation standards.
- Monitor financial indicators including cash flow, sales performance, inventory levels, operating records, and cash sales receipts.
- Ensure customer service excellence by implementing service initiatives and resolving customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Guide and support Store Managers in achieving priority targets related to sales, customer service, operational compliance, and team development.
- Monitor stock control processes to ensure store shrink remains within company guidelines, safeguarding company assets.
- Participate in weekly and monthly trade reviews, providing critical analytical insights and recommendations to the Brand Director.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, operational procedures, and compliance standards across all stores within the region.
Experience & skills
- High School Certificate required; qualification in a Retail-related field is an added advantage.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in retail operations, including at least 3 years in a Store Management role overseeing sales and operations.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with experience managing multiple locations.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth, achieving KPIs, and improving business performance.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience in trade review analysis and operational reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with English proficiency required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with a proactive commercial mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
