Job description
The HR Manager at GEMS Education will lead all human resources functions within a school setting, reporting directly to the Principal/CEO and functionally to the corporate HR Business Partner. The role encompasses the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, HR operations, employee relations, and offboarding. Responsibilities include managing recruitment processes for both teaching and non-teaching roles, preparing contracts and onboarding materials, conducting employee inductions, managing day-to-day HR functions including file management, HRIS updates, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with UAE Labour Law. The HR Manager also handles employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and employee engagement initiatives. They will process leaver documentation, conduct exit interviews, and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders. The role requires collaboration with leadership teams and HR Cluster Leads and contributes to organizational HR strategy implementation. Strong communication, organizational, and HR systems proficiency are essential for success in this role.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Provide recruitment support for school-based teaching and non-teaching positions
- Manage onboarding process including contracts, offer letters, and travel coordination
- Conduct new hire inductions and orientations
- Administer day-to-day HR operations including HR policies and procedures
- Maintain organized employee filing systems and update HRIS records
- Draft letters, memos, and employment certificates using D365
- Run HR reports for school management and HR Cluster Lead
- Coordinate employee benefits and serve as liaison to insurance carriers
- Support implementation and input of HR systems and policies for ERP projects
- Advise management on UAE Labour Law compliance
- Handle employee relations issues and act as counselor when needed
- Lead offboarding processes and conduct exit interviews
- Track and report exit data to the Principal for analysis
- Participate in staff meetings and HR projects as required
- Engage with HR Officers to share best practices and foster collaboration
Experience & skills
- Relevant degree or diploma
- Minimum 2ā3 years of HR generalist experience in a school environment
- Experience with HR Management Systems and office procedures
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a multicultural environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of UAE Labour Law and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with D365 and HR documentation
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
