Job description
The Financial Operations Consultant at Tap Payments, a fintech organization revolutionizing online payments across the MENA region, is responsible for handling day-to-day financial operations while developing comprehensive knowledge of the firm’s policies, regulations, and Internal Finance Operating procedures. Operating within the Finance team, the role supports the build, operation, and scale of customer, financial, and administrative operations across the Middle East and beyond. Core responsibilities include performing financial reconciliations between Internal systems, Payment Gateways, and Banks; managing financial records to ensure accuracy; and handling compliance in alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role conducts Internal Controls review and reconciliation between the sales captured on Operation System and payment gateways to identify the range or level of difference, ensuring integrity of financial data. The consultant also executes Internal Controls & Reviews of existing and newly onboarded merchants from a Finance perspective to prevent probable Monetary issues and mitigate financial risk. Participation in meetings and discussions covering collaboration, operational processes, and technical front initiatives is required to implement best practices within fintech operations. The position demands strict compliance with Internal Finance Operating procedures and rules and regulations, while carrying out additional duties based on business demands and growth of the role. Positioned within a high-growth fintech environment in Qatar, this role directly contributes to strengthening financial controls, reconciliation accuracy, and operational scalability in online payments and financial services.

Key responsibilities
- Perform financial reconciliations between Internal systems, Payment Gateways, and Banks to ensure accuracy of transactions and integrity of financial data across fintech operations.
- Manage financial records and ensure accuracy and compliance with Internal Finance Operating procedures, policies, rules, and regulations within day-to-day financial operations.
- Conduct Internal Controls review and reconciliation between sales captured on Operation System and payment gateways to identify the range or level of difference and resolve discrepancies.
- Execute Internal Controls & Reviews for existing and newly onboarded merchants from a Finance perspective to prevent probable Monetary issues and strengthen financial risk controls.
- Participate in meetings and discussions covering collaboration, operational processes, and technical front topics, contributing to implementation of best practices across financial operations.
- Ensure full compliance with Internal Finance Operating procedures and applicable regulations while maintaining high standards of financial services governance.
- Support customer, financial, and administrative operations scalability across the Middle East by aligning reconciliation processes and internal controls with business growth.
- Carry out additional finance and operational duties as assigned based on business demands and growth of the role within a high-growth fintech environment.
Experience & skills
- Possess 2-4 years of role-specific experience within Financial Services, Fintech, or High-Growth Startups, demonstrating hands-on exposure to financial operations and reconciliation processes.
- Hold a preferred degree or demonstrate equivalent real-world experience relevant to financial operations, fintech operations, and financial services environments.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of financial reconciliations, internal systems, payment gateways, bank reconciliations, and internal controls review processes.
- Exhibit working knowledge of compliance requirements and ability to adhere to Internal Finance Operating procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Show understanding of client, merchant, and stakeholder care within fintech operations, ensuring financial accuracy supports overall business objectives.
- Demonstrate ability to actively participate in meetings and discussions related to collaboration, processes, and technical front initiatives, contributing to best practice implementation.
- Maintain ability to organize financial information, identify discrepancies, ask relevant questions, and deliver work on time within structured financial operations environments.
- Exhibit strong communication skills in English, with preference for Arabic language ability, while effectively collaborating within a team-oriented fintech Finance department.
