The Business Planning Analyst role under the Mehnaty Graduate Analyst Program at Citi is a 12-month Emirati development program designed to nurture UAE national talent and prepare fresh Emirati university graduates for future roles in banking and financial services. The position supports business planning functions through data collection and analysis, gathering financial and operational data, organizing datasets, and analyzing trends, patterns, and insights to support business performance monitoring and planning activities. The role involves supporting reporting activities including creation of regular reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate business performance and planning outcomes to stakeholders. The analyst contributes to forecasting and modeling activities by assisting in development and maintenance of financial models, validating assumptions, and supporting forecasting initiatives. The role also supports strategic initiatives by assisting in planning and execution of strategic projects aligned with overall business objectives. The Business Planning Analyst works cross-functionally with departments including finance, operations, and sales to gather information and ensure integrated planning and performance alignment. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation of business processes, methodologies, and analytical findings while performing ad-hoc analysis to support management decision-making. The role operates within Citi’s global banking environment, supporting management development objectives, business analytics, financial planning, operational performance analysis, and strategic planning functions. The program emphasizes exposure to financial services, business analytics, forecasting, management reporting, and performance tracking, while developing analytical capabilities and supporting planning outcomes across business units.

Key responsibilities
- Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing financial and operational data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business planning, performance monitoring, and strategic decision-making initiatives
- Support preparation and delivery of regular management reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate business performance, planning outcomes, and operational insights to stakeholders and leadership teams
- Contribute to forecasting and financial modeling activities by assisting in development, maintenance, and validation of financial models, reviewing assumptions, and supporting forecast accuracy and planning cycles
- Assist in planning and execution of strategic initiatives and business projects while ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and supporting performance tracking of strategic outcomes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and sales departments to gather business inputs, validate assumptions, and ensure integrated business planning and coordination
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of business processes, methodologies, analytical findings, and planning frameworks to support governance and knowledge management
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis and business analytics to support management decision-making, performance tracking, and operational improvements
- Support business planning and performance monitoring activities through dashboard development, performance metrics tracking, and reporting to ensure effective business insights and planning support
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate UAE National eligibility and participation in the Mehnaty Graduate Analyst Program designed for Emirati graduates within a 12-month development framework
- Hold a Bachelor's degree from any discipline with graduation between 2023 and 2025 and academic achievement of 2:1 (UK system) or GPA 3 or equivalent and above
- Show interest in financial services, banking operations, business planning, and business analytics within a global banking organization
- Demonstrate capability in financial data analysis, operational data analysis, forecasting support, and financial modeling activities
- Demonstrate ability to support reporting, dashboard creation, presentation preparation, and management reporting functions
- Show experience or exposure to cross-functional collaboration with departments including finance, operations, and sales to support integrated planning
- Demonstrate ability to maintain documentation of business processes, methodologies, and analytical outputs for governance and planning support
- Demonstrate ability to perform ad-hoc analysis, support strategic initiatives, contribute to business planning processes, and assist management decision-making activities
