Job description
The Director of Business AI at du is responsible for leading the company’s business-driven artificial intelligence strategy, ensuring that AI adoption translates directly into measurable business outcomes. This leadership role focuses on building an enterprise-wide AI roadmap, fostering innovation, and embedding AI across business domains to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and commercial performance. The Director will partner with internal teams, hyperscalers, and technology vendors to conceptualize, prioritize, and deliver AI initiatives that align with du’s digital transformation goals. The role demands a blend of strategic thinking, technical literacy, and executive influence to drive AI readiness and position du as a regional leader in applied AI.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead du’s enterprise AI roadmap in alignment with the company’s business strategy and transformation goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional business units to identify, prioritize, and design high-impact AI use cases with measurable ROI
- Establish and operationalize innovation frameworks, processes, and standards for scalable AI deployment
- Translate business challenges into AI opportunities and ensure that solutions deliver tangible business outcomes
- Manage relationships with AI vendors, technology partners, and hyperscalers to ensure alignment with du’s innovation objectives
- Partner with the AI Solutioning and Governance teams to embed ethical, regulatory, and risk-compliant frameworks into all business AI initiatives
- Oversee AI program financials, including business case development, ROI tracking, and performance KPI reporting
- Champion AI capability building across the organization, developing training, literacy, and adoption programs for business stakeholders
- Represent du in global and regional AI forums, showcasing its leadership in innovation and responsible AI
- Drive adoption of Generative AI technologies and ensure their integration into business products and services
Experience & skills
- Master’s degree in IT, AI, Business Administration, Management, or a related field from a leading institution
- 10+ years of leadership experience in AI strategy, digital transformation, or business innovation within telecom or large corporate environments
- Proven expertise in managing AI/ML lifecycles from concept to deployment, with an emphasis on business applications
- Experience leading strategic partnerships and managing hyperscalers or ICT vendors
- Demonstrated success in delivering AI-enabled solutions with measurable financial and operational impact
- Strong understanding of Generative AI technologies and emerging AI trends
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment between business and technical stakeholders
- Exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic thinker with hands-on experience in executing AI initiatives at scale
- Commitment to ethical AI practices and data governance principles
