Job description
The role assists in planning and executing bank-wide compliance reviews for processes and products, ensuring appropriate controls are designed and aligned with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include managing assessments, reviews, and advisory activities for new and existing products, activities, and processes from a regulatory obligations perspective, and obtaining guidance from the Head of Regulatory Compliance for compliance program implementation. The role supports establishing and monitoring objectives to enhance the compliance unitās effectiveness, supervises assessments of regulatory risks from new regulations, and reviews existing controls to ensure mitigation. It involves planning and managing work programs to regularly review control design, communicating compliance review observations to the Head of Regulatory Compliance, highlighting critical issues, and ensuring timely follow-ups with departments under review. Additional duties include communicating with regulators to obtain clarifications and approvals, managing receipt and dissemination of regulatory directives, and maintaining the regulatory obligations register. The role also oversees reviews and updates of governance-related policies including personal trading, related party transactions, and whistleblowing, recommending changes based on regulatory updates. It assists in managing regulatory compliance staff and ensures tasks and projects adhere to approved policies, procedures, SLAs, and regulatory requirements to maintain quality standards and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities
- Manage assessment, review, and advisory processes for new and existing products, activities, and processes from a regulatory compliance perspective
- Obtain guidance from the Head of Regulatory Compliance on implementation of the Compliance Program
- Participate in establishing and monitoring compliance unit objectives to enhance service delivery to management
- Supervise assessments of regulatory risks arising from new regulations and review controls to mitigate such risks
- Plan and manage work programs to regularly review control design
- Communicate compliance review observations to the Head of Regulatory Compliance, highlighting critical issues
- Ensure timely follow-ups with departments under review to obtain replies on raised observations
- Communicate with regulators to obtain regulatory clarifications, product/service approvals, and fee approvals
- Manage receiving and dissemination of regulatory directives and maintain the obligations register
- Review and maintain corporate governance policies including personal trading, related party, and whistleblowing policies, recommending updates as needed
- Assist the Head of Regulatory Compliance in managing compliance staff
- Ensure tasks and projects comply with approved policies, procedures, SLAs, and regulatory requirements
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorās Degree and/or professional qualifications in Audit, Compliance, or Risk & Control
- Have a minimum of 6ā8 years of banking experience
- Possess extensive knowledge of banking operations and regulations governing the banking industry
