Tap Payments, a financial technology company revolutionizing online payments across the MENA region, is seeking a Dubai-based Developer Experience Consultant to support merchant and partner developers integrating with the company's payment platform. The role operates within the Operations Team responsible for building, operating, and scaling customer, financial, and administrative operations across the Middle East and beyond. The Developer Experience Consultant supports Merchant and Partner Developers by handling technical inquiries through Live Chat, Email, and Telephone, troubleshooting technical issues via online meetings, analyzing merchant requirements, and coordinating with merchant development teams for payment gateway integration and product integration. The position requires building, enhancing, and maintaining technical documentation, delivering gateway and feature functionality training to merchants and partners, and providing technical product support for merchant account and gateway issues. The role involves coordinating between customer care, sales, and technical teams for product integrations, organizing training sessions for new product developments, and understanding payment domain requirements across local, regional, and global markets. The Developer Experience Consultant collaborates with engineers to build new features at scale, scopes projects, builds business cases, assists with integration of products and platforms, and improves engineering standards, tooling, and operational processes. The role requires knowledge of fintech payment platforms, merchant onboarding, API integration, technical support processes, and platform integration workflows, while supporting operational growth and developer experience improvements across the organization.

Key responsibilities
- Handle technical inquiries from merchants and partners via Live Chat, Email, and Telephone, provide technical troubleshooting through online meetings, and deliver technical product support for payment gateway and merchant account issues.
- Analyze merchant requirements, coordinate with merchant development teams, assist with payment gateway integration, API integration, and product integration across multiple platforms and systems.
- Build, enhance, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for payment platform integrations, gateway functionality, and developer support materials on an ongoing basis.
- Provide gateway and feature functionality training to merchants and partners, organize technical training sessions, and communicate product developments to stakeholders.
- Coordinate between customer care, sales, and technical teams to ensure smooth product integrations, resolve technical issues, and support operational workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers across the organization to build new features at scale, support platform integration projects, and improve engineering standards and tooling.
- Scope integration projects, develop business cases, assist with integration of products and third-party platforms, and support large-scale payment platform initiatives.
- Understand payment domain requirements across local, regional, and global markets, support operational growth initiatives, and perform additional duties aligned with business expansion.
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate 1–2 years of experience in Financial Services, FinTech, or High-Growth Startups supporting payment platforms, developer integrations, or technical product support.
- Possess preferred degree or equivalent real-world experience in technical support, developer relations, fintech operations, or payment platform environments.
- Show knowledge of payment gateway integration, API integration, product integration, and technical troubleshooting processes within fintech environments.
- Demonstrate ability to support merchants and developers through Live Chat, Email, Telephone, and online troubleshooting sessions.
- Possess understanding of payment domain across local, regional, and global markets, and ability to coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and customer care.
- Demonstrate ability to build technical documentation, conduct gateway functionality training, and support merchant onboarding and integration processes.
- Maintain ability to collaborate with engineering teams to improve engineering standards, tooling, and operational processes within fintech platforms.
- Demonstrate strong English communication skills with preferred Arabic language ability, ability to work in hybrid environment in Dubai, and ability to support operational growth initiatives.
