The Manager, CBDFS Operations – Investment Solutions & Securities Operations role at CBD Financial Services in Dubai is responsible for supporting the General Manager (GM-CBD Financial Services) in setting strategic goals, developing business plans, and driving incremental business growth from existing customers while acquiring new relationships within the bank’s target market. The role operates within the banking and investment services domain, focusing on managing a sound credit portfolio and overseeing securities operations. The position requires managing back office operations to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of all securities-related transactions, including trade execution, trade settlement, deal confirmation, and financial transactions. The role ensures compliance with Dubai Financial Market (DFM) regulations, including verifying customer details conformity, executing orders in line with DFM policy guidelines, applying account freezes prior to order execution, and ensuring accurate debit of settlement amounts on settlement dates. Responsibilities include commission calculation and collection, weekly statement distribution, and timely communication of transaction errors to senior management with appropriate loss accounting approvals. The role emphasizes relationship management, establishing strategic objectives, formulating long-term business plans, and coordinating with unit managers to align operational execution with organizational goals. It also includes managing transaction processing, maintaining operational efficiency, minimizing customer complaints, and ensuring profitability. Additionally, the role involves providing professional guidance, training, motivation, and performance management for staff members, enhancing their skills and knowledge. The position requires expertise in securities operations, investment solutions, compliance, risk management, and adherence to regulatory frameworks such as DFM, alongside qualifications such as CISI or SCA certifications.

Key responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in setting strategic goals, formulating business plans, and coordinating with unit managers to drive incremental business growth and acquire new customer relationships
- Manage securities operations including trade execution, trade settlement, deal confirmation, and transaction processing ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure compliance with Dubai Financial Market (DFM) regulations by validating customer details, executing orders per policy guidelines, and applying account freezes prior to transactions
- Oversee back office operations by setting priorities, action plans, and ensuring quality and timely completion of daily processing functions
- Ensure settlement amounts are debited correctly on settlement dates and commissions are calculated and collected from customers on due dates
- Communicate transaction errors to senior management, manage loss accounting approvals, and ensure proper reporting and resolution
- Provide weekly statements to customers and ensure proper communication of all transaction-related activities
- Maintain efficient recording, execution, and communication of securities-related services to minimize customer complaints and enhance profitability
- Manage credit portfolio quality and ensure adherence to risk management and compliance standards
- Provide training, guidance, motivation, and performance reviews for staff to enhance operational knowledge and skills
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Commerce
- Demonstrate 6 to 7 years of experience in a similar role within an investment company or banking institution
- Possess knowledge of securities operations including trade execution, trade settlement, and transaction processing
- Demonstrate familiarity with Dubai Financial Market (DFM) regulations and compliance requirements
- Exhibit experience in back office operations, financial transactions, and investment solutions
- Apply knowledge of credit portfolio management, risk management, and compliance frameworks
- Hold or pursue CISI or SCA certification as relevant professional qualifications
- Demonstrate capability in relationship management, operational oversight, and performance management within banking environments
