Job description
A leading organization is seeking a Vice President â Insurance to design and oversee corporate and employee insurable risk frameworks through effective insurance and risk management strategies. The role requires defining policies, negotiating contracts, and evaluating company-wide exposures while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The VP will manage claims, oversee employee benefit insurances, maintain crisis response frameworks, and ensure financial performance optimization of insurance budgets. Acting as the subject matter expert, the role also builds strategic relationships with brokers, insurers, and other stakeholders, while contributing to market intelligence and best practice development for enhanced corporate decision-making.

Key responsibilities
- Define and recommend corporate policies on insurable risk aligned with company objectives.
- Identify and evaluate system-wide risks from company operations, recommending risk management strategies.
- Negotiate and secure insurance contracts in the best interests of the company and employees.
- Oversee and manage amendments and mid-term changes to insurance contracts.
- Evaluate legal conventions, protocols, and legislation impacting company exposures, taking remedial actions.
- Manage corporate claims and support employee benefit insurance investigations and recovery actions.
- Oversee contract risk management to ensure proper risk mitigation.
- Maintain and manage the Crisis Response Plan as part of the companyâs wider framework.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, insurers, lawyers, and loss adjusters.
- Manage and optimize the corporate insurance budget, ensuring efficient invoicing and recoverables management.
- Provide market intelligence on trends, claims, and best practices for informed decision making.
- Evaluate existing insurance processes and products, recommending improvements.
- Lead ad hoc insurance projects as required by the company.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Actuarial Science (Masterâs preferred).
- 15+ years of leadership experience in insurance and risk management.
- Specialized training in aviation insurance preferred.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation and claims management.
- Strong knowledge of international conventions, protocols, and national legislation affecting insurance.
- Experience with crisis management and business continuity planning.
- Proven ability to optimize budgets and improve financial performance through insurance management.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Competencies in customer focus, teamwork, communication, decision-making, resilience, and strategic thinking.
