DZ runs digital goods, ticketing, travel and trading businesses across Iraq, the UAE and KSA, and each vertical has grown its own reporting and its own version of the numbers. Basic questions take days, and the answers do not always agree. This Data Engineering Manager is hired to fix that, building the team and owning the data platform from ingestion through warehouse and modelling to the analytics and semantic layers. A single source of truth for core metrics, agreed with commercial, finance and product, comes first. Self-serve analytics should then answer most questions without a ticket, leaving the team free for platform work. Reliability is treated as a product concern, with freshness SLAs, lineage, testing and alerting that catches upstream breaks before stakeholders do. Governance runs alongside, working with security and legal on access control, retention and PII such as passport and telecom identifiers. Event tracking standards and data contracts lay the groundwork for data science, personalisation, fraud and experimentation. Candidates need 8+ years in software or data engineering, 3+ leading teams, production experience with batch and streaming platforms, deep SQL and dimensional modelling, and comfort with Python, TypeScript, Go, Postgres and AWS.
