Job description
Wood is seeking a PMC Senior Construction Manager to lead and be accountable for the planning and execution of construction activities for high-profile oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role directly manages Construction Leaders and oversees contractor performance to ensure projects are executed in accordance with ADNOC Onshore requirements, project procedures, contractual obligations, and shareholder expectations. Operating within Woodâs Oil, Gas & New Energies business, the position is responsible for managing multiple field disciplines or defined scopes on large-scale onshore energy developments, ensuring delivery to schedule, budget, safety, quality, and environmental standards. The PMC Senior Construction Manager oversees installation, commissioning, and completion of materials and equipment, manages construction cost and schedule, optimizes resource utilization, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and client requirements while maintaining effective communication with all project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage all construction and contractor-related deliverables in accordance with ADNOC Onshore and project procedures
- Supervise all construction areas on small projects or assigned disciplines on large-scale oil and gas projects
- Manage execution of construction activities in line with contractual requirements and company operating principles
- Control construction cost, schedule, and progress for assigned disciplines or project scopes
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and completion of materials and equipment
- Coordinate field personnel work schedules to maximize utilization and ensure timely delivery
- Monitor construction progress and report performance against approved plans
- Ensure safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities are defined, communicated, and enforced
- Ensure workers receive appropriate training, including health, safety, and site-specific inductions
- Initiate and manage HSE and quality processes including toolbox talks, inspections, and risk identification and mitigation
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or possess equivalent senior-level construction site experience
- Possess a minimum of 20 years of construction management experience on large oil and gas development projects
- Demonstrate proven experience managing contractors and multi-discipline construction activities
- Maintain strong knowledge of ADNOC Onshore standards and oil and gas construction practices
- Hold Professional Engineer accreditation as a preferred qualification
- Exhibit strong leadership and written and verbal communication skills across multicultural teams
