Job description
The Assistant Manager – Lending Operations at Standard Chartered in Dubai plays a critical role in executing mortgage, auto, personal, and wealth management lending products within the retail banking sector. This role emphasizes governance, supervision, execution controls, and operational risk management. Key responsibilities include mortgage liaison activities with government offices and other banks, document handling, client communication, cheque processing, and maintaining securing documentation in the eSDS system. The role supports operational excellence through complaint monitoring, custodianship activities, MIS reporting, and tracking of title deeds. A solid understanding of retail banking products, operational frameworks, and the ability to drive initiatives independently are essential.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Perform mortgage liaison activities including visits to government registration offices and banks within the UAE
- Follow up with relevant authorities on collateral documents including Dubai Land Department
- Handle and manage securing documentation
- Issue client communication and letters
- Process cheques for fees including process, valuation, and post-dated cheques
- Conduct maintenance activities and monitor reports
- Track and monitor complaints
- Manage custodianship responsibilities for securing documentation
- Check and update mortgage loan/finance documentation in eSDS system
- Prepare securing documentation dockets and settlement documentation
- Create and update documentation trackers and title deed MIS
Experience & skills
- Solid knowledge of retail banking products and operations across branches and channels
- Clear understanding of operational risk frameworks
- Demonstrated critical thinking and judgment in control roles
- Ability to drive initiatives independently with minimal supervision
- Minimum bachelor's degree in a relevant field
