Job description
The Public Policy Manager – Space & Connectivity role within Amazon Middle East and North Africa FZ-LLC is part of the International Public Policy and Government Affairs Team supporting Amazon’s global consumer and digital businesses across Europe, Middle East, Africa, India and Asia Pacific. The role focuses on Amazon Leo, an initiative launching a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites designed to deliver low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities globally. The position is responsible for driving advocacy and outreach to policymakers across the Middle East and Africa, managing senior-level engagement with national, local, supranational policymakers, industry organizations, trade associations, and non-governmental organizations. It involves defining strategy, executing advocacy campaigns, and coordinating cross-functional collaboration with Business, Regulatory, Legal, and technical teams. The role requires strong expertise in telecoms policy, connectivity regulation, spectrum policy, and space-related regulatory frameworks, along with the ability to interpret legislative proposals, assess business implications, and translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into clear messaging. The manager will represent Amazon in conferences and policymaker meetings, engage in multi-country regulatory environments across MENA, and support Amazon’s strategic objectives in digital connectivity and space infrastructure expansion while maintaining high ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional integrity.

- Drive advocacy and outreach to policymakers across the Middle East and Africa for Amazon Leo connectivity initiatives
- Develop and execute public policy and government affairs strategies across telecoms and space-related regulatory environments
- Manage senior-level engagement with policymakers, regulators, and government stakeholders across MENA
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business, Legal, and Regulatory teams to align policy strategy with business objectives
- Define and implement advocacy campaigns supporting LEO satellite broadband deployment and connectivity expansion
- Represent Amazon at industry conferences, regulatory forums, and stakeholder meetings
- Engage with trade associations, consultants, and multilateral organizations to advance policy positions
- Analyze legislative and regulatory proposals and assess business and operational impacts
- Translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into clear internal and external communications
- Support strategic decision-making by forecasting policy scenarios and recommending courses of action
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development or related field
- Experience in international legislative and regulatory policy processes, preferably in telecoms, connectivity, space, or technology sectors
- Proven experience in advocacy and stakeholder communication in policy environments
- Strong understanding of telecoms, spectrum regulation, connectivity, or space policy domains
- Ability to engage effectively with senior government and corporate stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Experience working across multiple countries in the Middle East and Africa region preferred
- Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with strong prioritization skills
